We recognize an important part of the peace of mind that goes with a resort setting is knowing in an emergency there are facilities and people waiting to take action to protect your well being. A few major first responder programs, each of which is almost unheard of in the resort community business, benefit our community and our members.
CareFlite is the leading organization in the emergency air transport business. Our community has years long relationship with CareFlite that makes available a CaringHearts Membership to all our residents and members for only $12 per year, per family. We support this relationship by having a CareFlite CaringHearts Helipad located at the heart of the community adjacent to the Arthur L. Ruff Center. CaringHearts Members are eligible to dispatch their own aircraft to our site to assist and transport them in a medical emergency. Every major hospital in DFW is available within 25 minutes of takeoff bringing world class medical facilities only a short trip away in a major medical situation.
Two separate automated heart defibrillators are located within the community. One is located at the Arthur L. Ruff Center fitness center. The second is located at The Cove on Lake McIntire in the Clubhouse.
In 2011 an on-site fire station was built by the developer and extended to the Lake Palo Pinto VFD for their use. They quickly purchased additional equipment and stationed a structure fire truck and brush fire truck at the station. The facility is operated and staffed by the Lake Palo Pinto VFD. The station is located in the heart of the community on Sundance Club property providing peace of mind for our members and residents.
